I absolutely love this recipe! Super simple steps, just takes some time and love! To me sourdough is the ultimate labor of love. To get that delicious crust, with a soft, chewy, tangy interior. Paired perfectly with some creamy butter and maldon salt.
To start, you will need a sourdough starter that is strong and well fed. For my starter I use 50g of whole wheat flour, 50g of bread flour and 100g of warm water when feeding it.
Now lets get into the process of creating a crusty sourdough loaf!
First you want to check to make sure your starter is strong, to do this, you can scoop a little piece out and put it into a glass of water. If it floats, the starter is read and active to use. If it sinks, you may want to give your starter another feed and wait until the next day to make sure it is active. An active starter creates an amazing crumb!
